well established and here for you

Our Founding Members

In 2015 Wanda Lee Hall approached the notaries in her FaceBook group about the concept of a Notary Association in Virginia. While overall the idea was met favorably – at that point, the level of effort needed was higher than anyone had time for. Wanda did not give up. In 2021 she met Sandy Lee Ames – who had experience in another State Association, and they began to collaborate. By 2022 Sandy’s experience with business brought forth the ground work of a solid business plan and Wanda’s contacts in the notary community gave her the reach-out to many experienced entrepreneurs. It did not take long to gather the team members with a passion for knowledge and sharing that are bringing you the Virginia Association of Notaries. Please meet our Founding Members below – not in any particular order – as this could not have happened without each and every one of them!

Wanda Hall

Wanda Hall became a Notary in 1999, while working as a Legal Assistant for a timeshare company. Wanda started Nichols Mobile Notary Services in 2010, where she specialized in General Notary Services and Loan Signings.  In February 2016, she got her eNotary commission and worked with one of the first online notary platforms nationwide.  She is the admin for the Virginia Notary/Mobile Notary/Signing Agent FaceBook page – 933 members strong. She has a personal belief that Virginia Notaries were missing representation from a state level Notary Association, so in 2022 she was one of the primary “driving forces” to gather a group together to get one started.

Sandra L. Ames

Sandra Ames was a Notary Public in Pennsylvania for 24 years. In addition to general notarizations, Sandy was a seasoned certified Notary Signing Agent – completing well over 500 closings and an official agent for PennDOTs Department of Motor Vehicles. Having been a member of the Pennsylvania Association of Notaries (PAN) throughout her tenure as a Notary, she gained an appreciation for the Associations’ support, assistance and benefits. Sandy became a Virginia Notary in 2018. In 2022, she lent her experience with PAN to heading the group of Virginia Notaries creating the Virginia Association of Notaries.
